It is rare for any two people to need the exact same luggage when travelling. Your destination, the climate, the length of your trip, whether your male or female and personal taste are all factors in deciding what you should pack. That said there are some essentials that everyone should include, these have been captured, along with what we have found works best for us, in the list below.
This list is by no means a ‘must have’ collection of items, it should be used as a guide, include what makes sense for your trip and leave out what doesn’t… Simple! Our main priority is to ensure you don’t leave home without the essentials. Often when packing for an extended trip “Less is More,” being able to fit everything into one large bag is recommended. If you really do find yourself needing something extra whilst away, buy it!
This section will vary dependent on gender and style, so pick and choose what works best for you.
The above is what I (as a male) pack, if your female you may want to add more dresses, skirts and leggings. You should aim to make up to 4/5 outfits from these, reducing the amount of trousers and shorts you pack.
Side note, a lot of travellers feel the need to buy miniature toiletries, whilst these can save space, they also run out a lot quicker and cost more for what you get. You will most likely be checking your bag in for any flights, so if you have the space there is no need to limit the size of your toiletries to meet airport specifications, no matter how cute they are…
Don’t forget to stock up on any repeat prescriptions or medications you may need whilst away.
That concludes our recommended packing list, remember this isn’t a definitive list, it is what we have found works best for us. Make use of our Free Packing List downloads below and tailor the list to suit you!
